It has been said that "One way to organize your thoughts is to tidy up, even if it's in the places where it makes no sense at all," by Ursus Wehrli. I want to expound on that! Why would tidying up help you organize your thoughts? Any guess? I believe it's because... When you decide to straighten things up, you're neither adding to something by buying more or accepting more but you are managing what you have. When you want to get your thoughts organized, often one big thing you can do is starting a little task of taking inventory of what you have or managing what you have in front of you. You might just need to pick a small area of the house, a drawer, the calendar, your book shelf, and just see what the situations looks like and how it can be organized, if you will. Organization for you might simply be sorting things out according to size, shape, color or type of thing you're dealing with. It doesn't have to be complicated and it can make a difference. Organization doesn't have to necessarily be deciding if a thing must get thrown away or not. The reality is that we can have so many things coming our way these days; information, news, social posts, friend requests, work requests, the stuff in your house laying before you, your newly bought stuff, your stuff that you no longer use but sits around, and the stuff that finds it's way flying out of your drawers, closets and bins and on every surface of your spaces. Developing a habit of getting your stuff in order, even a little part of it, can greatly help you organize your thoughts and feel at peace. You become more aware of your surroundings and for women especially, this practice can be so free-ing. What little thing can you get organized today?
